Wrexham were held to another draw as they finished 1-1 at promotion rivals Sutton United. It was a clash between third and fourth in the National League and Wrexham extended their unbeaten run to 10 games on the 3G pitch at Gandaer Green Gane, with seven on those finishing in a draw.
Another free kick against the Reds was conceded on 16 minutes, by Deverdics, 10 yards outside the box and directly in front of goal. After a long discussion between the referee and skipper Shaun Pearson, Tommy Wright finally stepped up to take it, but sent his effort a couple of feet over Chris Dunn’s cross bar.
Honours were shared in front of Sutton’s biggest crowd since the opening day of the season, as Scott Quigley gave Wrexham the lead midway through the first half, but Simon Walton levelled two minutes after the interval, forcing the ball in after Tom Bolarinwa’s header had hit the bar.
