The Racecourse Ground Wrexham
After a frustrating game as far as the home team were concerned. Inside Welsh Sport spoke to Halifax Town Official Supporters Club Secretary/Treasurer Roger Bottomley, to discuss his experience of the match and visiting Wrexham and The Racecourse Ground.
Hi Roger, did you find the ground easily enough?
Yes, it took approximately 2 hours by coach although some would have gone on the train, which is easy enough.
Have to queue for long to get in?
No, access was easy and quick.
Did you go into the town before the game?
No, not this time, I have done in the past and quite like Wrexham Town Centre but generally, we stop off at Chester.
First impressions of the ground from the outside and inside?
I’ve always like the ground, great history to the place. Overall it’s a good stadium.
How was the view from your seat?
The view for away fans is excellent.
Did you ever feel security was an issue?
Not at all.
Were you treated respectfully by police/stewards?
Yes, the stewards and police were both friendly and helpful.
How did you find the quality of food and drink on offer?
No problem with what was on offer.
How would you rate the home supporters out of 10?
10/10, the Wrexham fans in my experience are very friendly.
How would you rate the atmosphere from both sets of supporters combined?
It was a very good atmosphere.
A draw fair result although we had the greater number of chances in the second half to win
Think you’ll get promotion?
Wrexham will be there or thereabouts.
How do you rate Wrexham as a side?
They are a good side.
Would you take any of the Wrexham players into the Tranmere side?
Would take Kevin Roberts back no problems! A very good player at this level – knows how to cross a ball!
Who was your man of the match?
Halifax’s man of match Garner, Wrexham’s Wedgbury.
What recommended improvements would you suggest to Wrexham to improve your experience?
No improvements necessary here.
